In February I attended a national trial lawyers conference in California and participated in an important meeting with other lawyers regarding Levaquin, Avelox, and Cipro.
I understand that some patients who were prescribed Cipro, Levaquin, and Avelox developed peripheral neuropathy after using for a few weeks. These individuals may soon be able to file their cases in a MDL (Multi-District Litigation) class action suit.
The basis for the lawsuit is that drug companies, including Bayer, and Johnson and Johnson were aware of studies some years ago which showed that patients using these drugs developed peripheral neuropathy. Symptoms may include; tingling, numbness, muscle pain and weakness. Very often these symptoms do not leave the patient and may cause lifelong problems. The drug companies failed to appropriately warn the public until August of 2013.
There is some likelihood that Minnesota may be the state where the MDL will be filed.
