The multi-district litigation for Biomet’s faulty metal on metal hip replacement system began in 2012. A settlement has now been reached but claimants must file with the federal courts by April 15, 2014 to participate in the settlement so action to move on this claim is needed ASAP. We cannot guarantee we can protect your claim unless we hear from you by March 20, 2014.
Those that have had the Biomet M2a 38 and or the M2a Magnum hip implant system, and needed had a revision surgery six months after the initial implant can qualify to receive a base settlement of $200,000 (minus certain reductions) from Biomet Inc. There are certain reductions that may be subtracted from the base award. Part of the settlement includes giving $20,000 for non-M2a 38 and M2a Magnum hips that have been revised and for time-barred claims.
If you have not received a revision surgery, you may still qualify for a settlement if you were unable to go through revision surgery because it was deemed medically dangerous for you to do so.
If you or a loved one has received a Biomet M2a 38 or the M2a Magnum hip implant system and have needed revision surgery, or have been unable to have revision surgery because of the danger involved, please contact our attorneys today to see if you qualify for the settlement.
